I am
A WEB DESIGNER
My interest in design started at an early age when I wanted to become a landscape architect. In my early adult life I spent a few years working for landscaping companies. I decided to set up and run my own landscaping company this enabled me to do the designs as well as the construction work.
I've always been interested in computers and computing so using design software for my landscaping design was a natural progression. This in turn led me to experimenting with designing and building websites. My first official test of my design skills and web site building skills came when a friend ask me to design and build an ecommerce site for his business idea.

My design philosophy doesn’t follow one path, it consist of many types from the keep it simple to user-centred design.
I feel that when designing websites you have to use a combination of elements to create a site that satisfies the clients needs. It needs to simple and easy for the end user to navigate, whilst being sharp and good looking with meaningful content.
To make sure I get this process right for the client and the end user I use several different design methods whilst all the time keeping in close contact with the client to ensure I create what they are expecting/visualising.
My first website was created and launched back in 2009, it was created using software by a company called Erol Ecommerce since then I have rebuilt the initial website on two different platforms, Ekmpowershop and then onto Big Commerce. Erol was a steep learning curve as much of the build was using html code. Since this initial site I built a site for Croeso Vet Hospital, these sites were built out of the enjoyment of designing and building website, not as a business.
Creating these sites put me in a good position for the launch of HTML5 in 2012. Towards the end of 2012 I did a course in html5 to better understand the changes and to enable me to implement it in to current designs and future projects. Since 2012 I decided to fully launch Distinctive Web Solutions and increase my profile. My current projects include Radyr Garage, Caravan and Motorhome Services Ltd, and an update to Croeso Vet Hospital.
I am also working on several other projects, including one for charity. Rookwood spur is a spinal injury charity. I am currently designing and building their new website and helping raise their profile on social media sites.
